Running vs. jelly beans

Nike+ lies. But oh, what sweet lies it tells.
Look! I am so fast! Wheeeeee!
I also have absolutely no sense of pace, apparently. That's a cold hard truth right there.

This was one of those "I need to get these miles in and I'm going to run as fast as I can because it's 10:30 at night and what I really want to be doing is lying in bed eating jelly beans" runs. And I realized a few things.
1) I can run faster than I thought (but not as fast as that shifty Nike+ tells me).
2) Running faster than a 9 min/mile pace feels like an all-out-lung-busting-sprint.
3) I probably shouldn't eat candy in bed anyway.
